Thetford Rovers V Swaffham Town 'A'
Thetford Rovers Reserves travelled to Swaffham Town A in the league. In recent weeks Rovers had started slowley but a much improved start to the game see Rovers test the Swaffham keeper early with the lively Gribb going close. Rovers continued to impress in the opening 15 mins with some great flowing passes but just couldnt find the finishing touch that was needed. With all the early pressure it was Swaffham who took the lead against the run of play when a mix up in the Roveres defence see the Swaffham player run through to make it 1-0. However Rovers still stuck to there game plan when good work from Candler and Mckenzie down the right cross the ball for Gribb to finish from close range. But after equalising Rovers found themselves behind again after some more poor defending. Rovers continued to battle and found themselves levell again when a great through ball from Croome see Seear battle through to finish superbly in the bottom corner. From this Rovers kicked on and finally see them take the lead when Good work from Brewer and Foster cross for Gribb for his 2nd. Rovers saved there best for last though when Bibby nodded down for Croome who took 1 touch and riffled the ball from 30 yards into the top corner giving the home keeper absolutley no chance!Half Time 2-4 In the 2nd half Rovers knew Swaffham where going to come out the blocks early but managed to soak up the pressure and could of found themselves 5-2 up but Gribb missed a 1 0n 1. With the weather getting worse with strong winds Rovers struggled to find the same form as the 1st half and found themselves with there backs to the walls with the constent pressure from the home team. Swaffham finally pulled 1 back with a volley from the right that gave Disney no chance. With the clock counting down Rovers continued to stand firm and where looking to take a much needed 3 points however this wasnt to be as with 15 seconds remaining the home team won a corner which they tucked away to levell the scores at 4-4. Final score Swaffham A 4-4 Thetford Rov Res MOM N Croome- Battled well in the middle and was a constent threat through out.
